The Episcopal Church Welcomes Youth!

We have really enjoyed starting EYC every Sunday night by breaking bread together, and we would love to continue!  You have been so kind to offer meals throughout the year.  If you would like to cook, order, or sponsor a meal, please sign up!  We would love for you to stay and eat with us.  These youth are pretty great, and we’d love for you to get to know them more.

Thank you for your kindness and support!

Cameron Jackson grew up in Newnan but was baptised at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Carlowville, Alabama, where her great-great-grandfather was the first rector (1838-1895).  She was raised in the Methodist church but quickly found her way back home to the Episcopal church as an adult.  She was heavily involved in her youth group growing up, developing a strong foundation as a springboard to question, explore, and define her own theology.  She looks forward to helping provide the youth of St. Peter’s with not only a foundation of faith but also space to explore their own faith more deeply.

She graduated from Auburn University, met and fell in love with her husband Eli, and soon after moved to Rome.  As Eli says, “Fortune brought the Jacksons to Rome, and the Holy Spirit brought them to St. Peter’s.”  They have boy/girl twins, Davis and Collins, who they are grateful to be raising with the help and love of our parish.  After ten years of teaching at West Central Elementary, Cameron was fortunate enough to move forward as full time co-owner of Classic Southern Smocks.  This has provided flexibility and opportunity for more time with family, and with the youth of St. Peter’s.
Eli and Cameron have been serving as youth volunteers since September of 2020 and have sincerely enjoyed getting to know this group.  While Cameron taught early elementary students for ten years, she has come to realize that youth ministry is where her heart is.  Cameron and Eli look forward to learning and growing with the youth of St. Peter’s for years to come and are grateful for the love and support of the parish.
