Mite Boxes

MITE BOXES: As you may know, the Mission and Outreach Committee is promoting mite boxes (I think they call them by another name today.) this lenten season as a means of giving a tangible gift to a specified project and to remind us of Christ’s gift to us. It was a tradition at Saint Peter’s when I was growing up that has not been emphasized in recent years, and it is not just for children. I have a mite box every year as part of my observance of lent, and it is not only meaningful, it is fun. So get yourself and your children a mite box and make a gift to it every day and help to re-establish the tradition. You’ll love it!  ~John Hine
