Centering Prayer Workshop-8/29/15

INTRODUCTORY CENTERING PRAYER WORKSHOP:

When: Saturday, August 29. Where: Daniel Hall, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

Presenters: Liesl Bold and Jane Cunningham. Time: 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  Bring a sack lunch.  RSVP: ldb0567@gmail.com, 706-936-0719 or missjane1@mac.com.  Centering Prayer is a method of Christian meditation that comes out of the early Christian monastic tradition.  It is designed to facilitate a more contemplative prayer life where we learn to open our hearts and minds-our whole being-to God the Ultimate Mystery.  John of the Cross said “Silence is God’s first language.”  Contemplative prayer is a wordless, trusting openness of self to the divine presence.   Join us for a day of learning, sharing, prayer, and silence.

There is a Contemplative Prayer Group that meets Thursdays at 6:30pm. This group includes Episcopalian, Catholic, Methodist, and Presbyterian participants.   All are welcome!
